Description
Although it is not the most winning bicycle of all time, it is fair enough saying that the Wilier Triestina Superleggera is one of the most beautiful racing bicycles ever manufactured.
Known as "Ramata" amongst enthusiasts - Ramata, feminine for Ramato which in Italian means copper plated - the Wilier Triestina Superleggera left the factory in Rossano Veneto in the late 1970s. Since then it has appealed collectors around the globe as few other bicycles.
The paintwork is certainly the highlight of this Wilier Triestina Superleggera: it consists of a paint coat over chromed tubes - Columbus SL in this case - which creates a unique translucent paint job. This model dates back to 1984 and has been professionally refurbished, thus it is flawless.
Re the components, it is equipped with an original Campagnolo Super Record groupset with refined engraved details.
Are you by chance wondering what the "Ambrosini" engravings on the head tube means? This bicycle was a model built by Wilier for Ambrosini, a bicycle shop in the town of Varese, northern Italy.
A must have for any avid collector. More than a bicycle, simply a piece of art.
