Description
Benotto was founded by Giacinto Benotto in Torino, Italy, in 1931. Like so many Italian bike manufacturers of the era, Benotto himself was a passionate racer and had first hand experience of the competitive world of racing. He knew of the need for high-quality designs.
Here we present you an absolute gem, a top level Benotto made by one of the most famous frame builders of the 20th century - Giuseppe Pelà. That is to be recognized not just by the trademark fork crown but also by the bottom bracket shell with 4 cutouts. The frame is made of Columbus SL tubeset and still sports the original and typical Benotto beige paintjob used by team Filotex. Luckily, this rare piece has survived these roughly 45 years very well and thanks to the careful storage it is in exceptionally good condition.
As for the parts, it is fully equipped with Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset and some fine parts which complete this very prestigious built. Cinelli has been chosen for both cockpit and saddle while the Nisi rims were the first choice of top class Italian bikes back then. The Benotto pantographes elevate the bike even higher and you can find them on the chainring, stem and even the seatpost.
A stunning piece of cycling history in original top shape.
The bike we present here seems to be from late 1978 as it has a the famous Diamante chainstays with a rhombic diameter which have actually been a trademark of Ugo De Rosa. Fine details like the beautiful fork, Campagnolo dropouts, the Benotto bar tape and the Campagnolo Super Record groupset leave no doubt concerning the thorough quality of this racing machine. Some parts especially need to be mentioned like the precisely drilled Campagnolo parts, Cinelli Record cockpit and Unicanitor saddle and the Mavic OR10 rims with gold anodizing.
A beautiful ride and a gorgeous sight, this Benotto 3000 can be instantly used since it has been thoroughly checked by our mechanics.
