Description
Our Bertorelle Special from the 1980s is an extravagant extra fine road bike. The frame is made of light Columbus tubes, which are ovalized in the case of the top and the down tube and also the seat stays. You will fine many delicate details like precise engravings or Cinelli brake bridge showing that this bike has been done by a master frame builder.
The treatment of those tubes is however what makes it so lavish. You may be familiar with cromovelato paintjobs, where a translucent paintjob is applied over a polished layer of chrome. Our Bertorelle shows similar solution, but instead of chrome the frame has been fully gold plated. This "orovelato" creates a breathtaking combination of a sparkling green tone with the characteristic colour of gold.
On the technical side the bike is equipped with a Campagnolo Super Record groupset, the best racing level parts you could get in the early 1980s.

Condition
Used. The bicycle is in good condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. The paintwork and decals are all original with some small signs of usage. The cromovelato paintjob has some small scratches and small flake-offs and the gold plating is slightly flaking-off on some places. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! Parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and all wearing parts were replaced with new ones. You can expect the bicycle in great riding condition and ready to go for your vintage bike ride.Bicycle Size
