Description
C4 was founded in February 1986 in order to create and build carbon fibre projects by engineer Marco Bonfanti. C4 had always used its own system of moulding the carbon structures: NJC – No Joint Construction, which enables the building of hollow structures without joints.
C4 had such an innovative design solution that from the offset they were asked into a collaboration project with the renowned Bianchi Reparto Corse department. In 1987, the Bianchi racing team rode the time trial stages of the Giro d ‘Italia on bikes designed and built by C4. These were a world preview of the special feature monocoque carbon technique.
In the year 1994, C4 was the primary sponsor of the professional cycling team Polti, including Gianni Bugno and Ivan Gotti among others. Team Polti would be found riding the C4 Air One, a light, elegant and progressive example of Italian design. Our example is equipped with Campagnolo parts and runs on Ambrosio Excellence rims.
Condition
Used. The bicycle is in good condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. The paintjob has been professionally refurbished and thus in top shape. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! All parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and wearing parts were replaced with new ones.
