Description

Carrera was an Italian-based road bicycle racing team active from 1984 to 1996, named after sponsoring Italian jeans manufacturer Carrera and becoming a legendary icon of Italian cycling successes.

In 1989, Carrera manager Davide Boifava together with Luciano Bracchi and Francesco Boifava founded Carrera Podium, a top-level bike manufacturer. The company’s goal was simple and clear and was founded as a result of experiences gained in professional cycling races by the three partners. Their philosophy was supported by a rich history of over 500 victories in the most prestigious competitions. They combined a technical approach with a special Italian sense for elegant lines and the result was a beautiful road racing machine.

From 1990 on, Carrera Team rode these Carrera bikes made by experts who built bikes for Pantani, Chiappucci, Bontempi,  Abdoesjaparov, and Scinadri and was one of the most famous teams in the early/mid-1990s.

Proudly presenting iconic mid-1990s racing machine, the Carrera Tassoni Team. The frame is made of superb Columbus EL tubing, which shines in the beautiful Carrera Tassoni Team edition paint scheme, exactly the same as that used by Marco Pantani. The bicycle has been equipped with a Campagnolo Chorus groupset.

For all ”Il Pirata” fans

SVB quality and attention to detail is second to none! Fantastic customer service, very accommodating and helpful. An error was made in delivery and the SVB team efficiently sorted the problem the same day. I was gifted the original item and sent a brand new item, dispatched the same day. Lovely products and very helpful staff. 5*

Just bought a second vintage classic bike from Steel Vintage. A great bike at an excellent price and they couldn't have been more helpful. Their fantastic service was every bit as good as before.
Placed the on-line order late on Saturday evening and the bike was delivered to me here in the UK the following Thursday morning.

Geeky Eroica Cool. I bought the "old-school" Italian made bike shoes. They were delivered in good condition and in a quick timely fashion. They're geeky cool, just like I hoped and they're put together very well (stitched nicely, no glues where it shouldn't be) light and fit properly!

Steel Vintage Bikes are such an excellent company to deal with. They are passionate about vintage steel bikes. They have in my opinion very fair prices and very obliging to deal with. Packaging is great and no hassle even for delivery way down here in New Zealand.

The overall service provided by Steel Vintage Bikes is always first rate. Delivery and packaging is always timely and well done. I cannot fault Steel Vintage and have been a customer for a number of years.. Plan to get to Berlin hopefully in the near future, stop in for a some Kaffee und Kirchen and a bike geek mooch around the shop.
