When Ernesto released the Colnago C40 he started a revolution.
Before, carbon fibre was seen as the future of cycling, there have been loads of experimentation and carbon fibre bikes were simply not good enough to be on the professional circuit, that is until 1994.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Colnago, the C40 was first presented to the public. A construction of profiled carbon fibre tubes, fitted together by well proportioned carbon fibre lugs. Ernesto outfitted the Team Mapei as the first squad to race his prestigious machine. They proved that the bike was capable of coping with the roughest conditions. And the manner in which they did it was simply stunning.
We are offering the 3rd edition of the Colnago C40, the Colnago C40 B-stay offers a more efficient and comfortable ride and is equipped with a Shimano Dura-Ace groupset.
Condition
used. The bicycle is in good condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. The paintwork and decals are all original. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! All parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and all wearing parts were replaced with new ones.
