Description
One of the most iconic bikes which left the famous factory in Cavenago (Milan, Italy), the Colnago Mexico was produced to celebrate the 1972 Eddy Merckx world hour record. The Colnago Mexico was slightly different from the Colnago Super - built with even thinner Columbus tubes - but shared with that glorious bike the aggressive racing geometry: short, light and very stiff.
The next step in its evolution became the Colnago Nuovo Mexico which was first released in 1982 and immediately ridden to victory by Giuseppe Saronni in the 1982 World Championships. It is said to be built with profiled Columbus KL lightweight tubes and it features the distinctive crimps on top and down tube.
This Nuovo Mexico is a stunning piece from the fist production years. It still sports the original paintjob in the iconic "Saronni red". It is nicely preserved and so are the parts. Nothing less than the best has been chosen - Campagnolo Super Record gruppo with pantographed parts.

Condition
Used. The bicycle is in very good condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. The paintwork and decals are all original with some signs of use. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! Parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and all wearing parts were replaced with new ones.
