Few bicycles have influenced the scene as much as the Colnago Super. At a time when racing bicycles were heavy with long wheelbases and flat angles, Ernesto Colnago released a bicycle which would become a legend of cycling history and the top model of his 1970s catalogue - the Super.
Made of Columbus SL steel tubes - with a shorter, stiffer and lighter frame - the Colnago Super was designed for high performance. Since its launch, uncountable racing bicycles have been built with a geometry inspired by the Super.
This Colnago Super Pantografata stems from the year 1972. It is a bit more special, as the name already indicates. It got several pantographs and brandings so Colnago included this fact in its name. What makes this one partially special is the fact that it is in near-mint condition.
The bike is equipped with the best groupset Campagnolo had to offer. To be precise, it has a Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset. The classic combination of the Super with Campagnolo components is vastly sought after for its appeal as well as its riding characteristics.
The Cinelli Cockpit and saddle complete a bike of the absolute top class.<
Early Colnago bikes in such complete condition are not easy to find so this adds to the bike's exceptionality.
Condition
Used. The bicycle is in almost mint condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. The paintwork is original with almost no signs of use the same for the decals. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! Parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and all wearing parts were replaced with new ones.
