Description
Few bicycles have influenced the scene as much as the Colnago Super. At a time when racing bicycles were comparably heavy with long wheelbases and flat angles, Ernesto Colnago released a bicycle which would become a legend of cycling history and the top model of his 1970s catalogue - the Super.
Made of Columbus SL steel tubes - with a shorter, stiffer and lighter frame - the Colnago Super was designed for high performance.
Since its launch, uncountable racing bicycles have been built with a geometry inspired by this model. It was a bike that was ridden to countless victories by legendary champions such as Eddy Merckx, Freddy Maertens and Giuseppe Saronni. The latter of which also happens to be the former owner of this bike!
This Colnago Super stems from the late 1970s approximately 1978. Featuring the fork crown with Colnago clubs and lettering on the tops.
The components are high-end. The bike is fully equipped with a first-generation Campagnolo Super Record groupset. Checked in our workshop in Berlin, and the bike is ready to go. Suitable for classic cycling events as well.
Condition
Used. The bicycle is in good condition. The frameset has the original paint and decals. There are no cracks, no dents and is not bent. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! All parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and all wearing parts were replaced with new ones. You can expect the bicycle in fantastic riding condition and ready to go for your vintage bike ride.Size Information
