After learning his trade under the master frame builder Luigino Milani. Dario Pegoretti
was eager to experiment with new forms and techniques, in the 1990s Dario set out to build frames in his own name, developing a signature style that melded art, music and strikingly innovative techniques. At the same time, he established a team of artisans capable of interpreting his vision.
What we have here is something really special, a custom made Pegoretti Marcelo pista bike. On the head badge are the words “Fatti con le mani” indicating that the frameset has been crafted by hand in Dario Pegoretti’s workshop in Verona, Italy. The Marcelo frameset is constructed from heat-treated Columbus LIFE tubing. The frameset provides stiffness and responsiveness, making it perfect for a Pista frameset.
All the paintwork was finished by hand (Fatti con le mani) and this style of finished has been named Ciavate by Pegoretti. It is inspired by the works of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Mark Rothko, and looks like it would not be out of place at a modern art exhibit.
As for the components we find a Cinelli Pista cockpit and a Miche Pistard WR wheelset.
