Description
Diamondback Bicycles was founded as a BMX brand in 1977 in Newbury Park, California. After years of success, manufacturing bikes and sponsoring professional riders Diamondback made the decision to diversify and in 1990 started manufacturing road and mountain bikes. This diversion was named; Dimandback Racing (DBR).
What we have here is a rare Diamondback Racing titanium mountain bike frame. The "TT" in the name was their suffix for all their TiTanium frames, I guess they wanted to be unique?
The frame has been crafted using Sandvik titanium tubing (a company famously known for its titanium work) The dropouts are extra thick & water jet, with "windowed" cutouts. These dropouts are welded to the stays with some uber-fancy welding and tapering. In short, this is going to be much stiffer than classically designed titanium frames of its time (For the 1990's this was way ahead of its time.).
These typically came from the factory with a matte brushed finish. This one has had the decals removed and given a lovely polish. No decals for a super clean and stealth look and equipped with great components!
Condition
The bicycle is in good condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! All parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and wearing parts were replaced with new ones.
