Description
In the late 1980s and early 1990s the Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra was one of the best road bike frames and therefore the choice of many professional teams. It dominated the peloton with its extremely well-made triangle of light and rigid Columbus SLX or SPX tubes.
Our Corsa Extra frameset stems from approximately the year 1990 and it is made of Columbus SLX steel tubes. The SLX was a "superbutted" tube set from Cyclex steel, designed for professional use and is famous for its helical reinforcements on the end of the tubes. Our one is slightly special though, having chromed seat and chain stay which match perfectly with the fork.
The equipment is equally fine and you will find nothing less than the slick modern Campagnolo Centaur 11-Speed groupset. It is then completed with a Deda cockpit, Campagnolo Calima rims or the Selle Italia Flite saddle.
A truly top-class bicycle which is a joy to ride but to look at as well.
