Description
The family Fanini from Lucca has been a sponsor and promoter of regional cycling sport for generations. Their most famous protégé arguably being Mario Cipollini. When Lorenzo Fanini was active in the bicycle business, they did not only sell bikes of other brands, they also built their own ones.
Our Fanini Super Competizione from the 1970s shows both the skills and the craziness of their machines. Fanini bikes of this time often had excessive drillium works and extra milling. They just always were a little different and had that special extra effort put into them that turns a simple bike into a marvellous piece of craftsmanship.
Our frame has it all: A fiery translucent cromovelato paintjob, finely filed lugs and even holes drilled into the seatlug. The lower headlug has a enormous long spear-like tip pointing from the headtube towards the bottom bracket as if it was a modern reinforcement.
The shifter bosses are handmade and the brakes are screwed directly into the frame from the front, there is nut in the back to fasten them!
The Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset has also been adorned in Fanini pantographs.
Condition
used. The bicycle is in good condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. The paintwork and decals have been professionally refurbished. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! All parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and all wearing parts were replaced with new ones. You can expect the bicycle in fantastic riding condition and ready to go for your vintage bike ride.Bicycle Size
