Description
There is no point to introduce this brand from Turin. Connected to famous riders like Roger de Vlaeminck, Patrick Sercu or Fons de Wolf, the iconic blue machines are easily recognizable and very easy to fall in love with.
The undisputed top model of the 90s was the Compact. In order to be able to make the geometry versatile, it features a splendid invention of Aldo Gios. The adjustable dropouts allow you to move the rear wheel forward or backwards, according to your needs. It works very well and to be honest the chromed plates with the brass bolts look pretty cool.
Our Compact is slightly special though. It is the best version they have made in the 90s and it is quite rare to find, since not that many were made. Instead of lugs, the tubes are TIG welded together and the tubeset is also special. It is the heat treated version made for Gios likely by Dedacciai. Notable are also the rear stays with a slight cigar shape.
In the front is mounted the classic Gios Compact fork which is as elegant as it is well made with completely closed hole underneath the crown.
As for the equipment it is fitted with the complete Shimano Dura-Ace grouset of the 7400 series with 8-speed STI shifters operated from the brake levers. Great racing level parts which run like a clockwork. Fine are also the wheels turning around the Swiss made Edco Competition hubs and fitted with Mavic Ceramic rims.
When needed we have replaced some wearing parts for high quality new ones like the Tufo handmade clincher tyres or the Flite saddle.
This Gios Compact H.T. is a real treat to ride and this stylish racing machine is fully capable of serious riding.

Condition
Used. The bicycle is in very good condition. The paintjob and decals are all original with some small paint chis and flake offs. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! Parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity. The frame has no cracks, and is not bent. One tiny ding on the top tube. You can expect the bicycle in great riding condition and ready to go for your vintage bike ride.Bicycle Size
