Cycles Gitane was founded by Marcel Bruneliere in 1925. Gitane bicycle are synonymously connected to legendary cyclings heroes; Jacques Anquetil, Lucien VanImpe, Bernard Hinault, Laurent Fignon and Greg LeMond, together winning a total of 12 Tour de France titles on Gitane Bikes.
During the company's heyday in the 1970s and 1980s Gitane created some of the most technologically advanced aerodynamic bikes the world had ever seen at the time.
Here we are proudly offering Gitane Aero Profil which dates back to the 1981. Very similar bike was ridden by B. Hinault where he won the 1981 edition of the Tour de France. Superb frame is made of Reynolds aero fillet brazed tubing, shinning in original paint, built with Shimano Dura Ace Ax groupset.
Condition
used.. The bicycle is in great condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. The paintwork and decals are all original in perfect condition. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! All parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and all wearing parts were replaced with new ones. You can expect the bicycle in fantastic riding condition and ready to go for your vintage bike ride.Size Information
