Description
In 1946, Gaston Lapierre started a small bicycle shop in Dijon, France in the beautiful region of Burgundy. From the start, Lapierre produced also road bikes, which were not as well known as some bog names on the French market. In 1972 a new and bigger factory was constructed on the outskirts of Dijon in order to meet higher demand and to be able to grow.
When a new type of bicycles appeared and gained popularity, Lapierre made the right decision and got involved in the MTB mania. It was a great success and Lapierre is best known for their MTBs even today. In the 90s, production of road bikes has been restored and nowadays you can see teams like FdJ winning races on Lapierre bikes.
And this Lapierre 24 Carat is one good example. Based on quality Deda Zero-Tre steel tubes TIG welded together, the frame is robust yet still reasonably lightweight. With some fancy details like the s-bend seat stays, chormed dropouts or the shifting cable guides on the head tube, it certainly is worth your next project.
