Description
The French company Look was founded in 1951 by Jean Beyl. After a skiing accident, he developed the first safety ski bindings. An invention that truly changed the world of skiing and a technology which when implemented into pedals revolutionized road cycling.
In the late 80s, the company had developed from making pedals to top level carbon composite frames Look has always gone its own innovative ways and has never followed standards and laws in frame construction. The carbon-kevlar tubes are bonded together with aluminium lugs and ultimately turned Look into one of the most reputable carbon frame builders of the 21st century.
This iconic frameset was the choice of the German and French national teams as well as the professional Team PDM, Team ONCE and Team Toshiba. This is exactly what we have here, a Team Toshiba Look KG98 Time Trial belonging to Philippe Louviot. In September 1986 Louviot rose to the professional circuit, signing with the Peugeot Cycling Team.
He signed for the Toshiba team in 1990 and rode our bike in 1991 in a team lead by Tony Rominger. The team was kitted out with Shimano Dura-Ace 7402 groupsets and our bicycle even has prototype brake levers.
