Besides being a special model made by Colnago with real 18 karat gold platting and featuring the best of the best parts from that era, this bicycle has a special story:

This Colnago Mexico Oro Gold platted bicycle was an official exhibition piece of Colnago presented during the World Exhibition in Milan in year 1979. Colnago invited Eddy Merckx, who was riding this bicycle on rollers during the exhibition. Therefore the bike has exact the geometry of bikes ridden by Eddy Merckx personally. A danish dealer from European Bicycle Import (ECI) fell in love with the bike and bought it at the show from Colnago togther with the framed poster featuring the bicycle which was signed by Eddy Merckx personally. The framed poster is part of this offer and will be shipped together with the bike.

It is a true collector's piece, never ridden after the show and preserved in the best possible way. The gold platting is sound and there are no dents, no cracks and no rust on or inside the frameset. The bicycle hass all pantographed first generation Campagnolo Super Record groupset from 1979 with pedals and bottle cage.
