Description
Peugeot was one of those early bicycle manufacturers which grew big and successful during the 20th century. Their first bike was already built around 1882 but their reputation grew mainly due to their racing activities from 1903 until 1983.
During this time they managed to win the Tour de France 10 times and several Championships, Classics and one-day races. Who has not seen the pictures of Tom Simpson and Eddy Merckx, winning the World Championships in 1965 and 1967 on a Peugeot?
This Peugeot dates back to the early 1980s and its frame has been made of Super Vitus 980 double-butted steel tubing. It is fitted with some really great parts, such as the Galli derailleurs and Mavic Rims.
Handmade in France, this particular vintage bike embodies the solid reputation of old Peugeot bikes: stable and sportive!
Condition
Used. The bicycle is in good condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at the Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! All parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and all wearing parts were replaced with new ones.
